Join us at the Upper Cumberland Regional Airport for fun and fitness as we host the Law Enforcement Torch Run with their famous Plane Pull and 5k Run the Runway events!
Pulling For a Purpose
Pulling for a Purpose Plane Pull brings together members of law enforcement, local community members, Unified Clubs and Special Olympic supporters challenging each other for the fastest time of pulling a REAL AIRPLANE! The entry fees support special
There are two ways to enter:
TEAMS
Teams can be up to 10 people. Each team will pull a Gulfstream IV jet plane weighing approximately 40,000 lbs for a distance of 50 feet. The team with the best pull time wins!
Cost per team – $500 to participate
INDIVIDUAL
We will also offer single plane pulls.
$50 entry fee per person
The single person aircraft is a Piper Aztec that weights approximately 3500 lbs. Each competitor will pull the plane for 25 feet, and one person will walk away with the prize for the fastest time!

5K ON THE RUNWAY
We’ll kick off the day with a 5k (see what we did there?)! Runners will navigate a course laid out for a timed 5k run that takes up and back on the Upper Cumberland Regional Airport’s pristine runway 5/23!
Runners will start at 9AM sharp, and all participants will receive a t-shirt and participation medal.
COST
$50 per person
PRIZES
Awards will be given for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd.
HOW TO SIGN UP
Click the button below to be taken to the registration page. Participants for EITHER or BOTH events will need to sign up on the event website. Follow the link, and click on “BECOME A FUNDRAISER” to register for either event (or both). Becoming a Fundraiser not only will take your registration fee and register you for the event, but you will also become an ambassador for the Tennessee Special Olympics. You are absolutely encouraged to go out and get supporters and sponsors to help you make the most of the event, so get out there and let’s make a difference!
